Terms of Service

1. The Service

Puzzone is a web application that lets you generate, export, and share puzzles (crosswords, sudoku, word searches, mazes, and other formats). Some features — including AI clue/word generation and the puzzle book creator — are available only to paid subscribers.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

3. Subscriptions & Payment

Puzzone Premium is a recurring subscription billed at 9.99 per month in U.S. dollars, charged via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

Canceling your subscription (while keeping your account): use the “Manage billing” button on your account page, which opens the Stripe Customer Portal. Premium access continues through the end of the current paid period, after which your account reverts to the free tier. Cancellations of this kind are not refunded.

Deleting your account entirely (Settings → Danger zone → Delete account): your active subscription is canceled immediately, and if you have not used any Premium feature (AI clue or word generation) during the current billing period, we will issue a full refund of your most recent payment. If you have used any Premium feature, the payment is non-refundable and access ends immediately.

Except as described above, payments are non-refundable. We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

4. Your Content

You retain all ownership in the puzzles, word lists, and other content you create using the Service. You may use puzzles you generate for personal, educational, or commercial purposes (including Amazon KDP and other publishing platforms) without royalty.

You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide and improve the Service (for example, running AI generation jobs on your behalf).

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for unlawful purposes; (b) attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; (c) resell or redistribute the Service itself; (d) submit content that infringes third-party rights or violates applicable law; (e) abuse AI generation features to produce harmful, defamatory, or deceptive content.

6. Intellectual Property

The Puzzone software, design, trademarks, and documentation are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any license to our intellectual property except as necessary to use the Service as intended.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
