1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and (if provided) your name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile photo from Google.

Payment information. If you subscribe to Puzzone Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, but we do not store your full credit-card number on our servers.

Content. Puzzles you create, word lists you submit to AI generation, titles, and settings. Most puzzle generation runs in your browser and does not reach our servers.

Technical information. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths) retained for operational and security purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: (a) provide the Service and your account; (b) process payments and manage subscriptions; (c) run AI clue/word generation when you request it; (d) respond to support requests; (e) monitor, prevent, and investigate abuse; (f) comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We share data only with the following service providers, and only as needed to operate the Service:

• Google — OAuth sign-in (email, name, profile image).
• Stripe — subscription billing.
• OpenAI — AI clue and word generation, when you opt into those features. Word topics and clue prompts are sent to OpenAI and are subject to its API data-use policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when required by law (e.g., response to a valid subpoena) or to protect the rights and safety of Puzzone and its users.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies strictly necessary to authenticate your session and maintain your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (for example, financial records for tax compliance).

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and restricted server access — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us (see below). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA where they apply).

8. Children

Puzzone is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account.

9. International Users

Puzzone is operated from servers located in Canada. If you access the Service from outside Canada, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in Canada, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or post a prominent notice on the Service.
