Kakuro is a crossword built from sums: each run of white cells must add to the number in its clue, using the digits 1 to 9 without repeating one inside a run. Ten puzzles per pack in three sizes, each verified to have a single solution, with the completed grids at the back.
Questions
- What are the rules of kakuro?
- Fill the white cells with digits 1 to 9 so every run adds up to its clue. A digit may not repeat within a single run, though it can appear elsewhere in the row.
- Do I need to be good at maths?
- Only addition to 45. The puzzle is about which combination of distinct digits makes the total, not arithmetic speed.
- Are answer keys included?
- Yes, at the back of each pack.
- Where do I start?
- With the constrained sums — a two-cell run totalling 3 can only be 1 and 2, and a two-cell run totalling 17 can only be 8 and 9.
